*This post is sponsored by ZINK Imaging. I have received product and/or compensation from them. All ideas and opinions are 100% my own and I looooved this little gadget!
We are living in a world of instant gratification and visual eye candy. I don’t know that I always think that is a good thing, but in the case of today’s post… 100% on board… sign me up… how have I lived without you?!?!
This little gadget from Polaroid is called the ZINK because, ZERO INK, people!!
But don’t be fooled into thinking that means boring or low-quality. This produces images that are crystal clear and full of color! And it does it fast! Like instant gratification type of fast.
The machine arrives like the picture on the left above. But you can purchase a wrap in a variety of colors (blue all the things!!), to help protect it against scratches.
The first thing you do is download the app on your phone (android or iPhones!) or tablet. The steps are so self-explanatory but there is a guide to help you. Setting up the app and machine took me no more than 10 minutes.
Then you just sit there and play on your phone! There’s a whole library of shapes, backgrounds, frames, text options, colors and more. You can also use any picture from your phone or connect to Facebook or Instagram to access those photo libraries! Right now is when you should start singing, “A Whole New World…”!! Sooo many possibilities!
I decided to make an Instagram Photo Frame for my daughter’s bedroom door.
On my phone, I opened the app, clicked “new design” and then “photo”. It lets you choose where to select your photo from. I just chose Instagram, tapped on my picture and it was inserted. From there, you can make all kinds of adjustments – rotate, resize, crop, filter and more.
It uses a wireless connection to your ZINK printer, so I just sat on my couch designing, hit print when I was ready and within seconds, it printed out on the machine over on the dining room table. You swipe your finger across the display and it cuts it off for you.
Since I wanted to do a garland of Instagram pictures, I designed mine so the photo was at one end of a 4″ strip, so I could fold it right down the center. This is sticker paper, so once I removed the backing and placed the twine in the crease, it would self-seal. (You can also purchase a ZINK toolkit that has this nifty tool to help you make sharp creases when you’re folding)
The little white edge at the bottom of the picture is creased to make it easy to pull off the backing. There was absolutely NO trimming involved! I had all 5 pictures designed, printed, creased and attached to the twine in under 5 minutes! SO EASY!
Here you can see how once I pulled the backing off, I just placed the twine tight up in the crease. Then brought the top down and it adhered perfectly!
This little image was part of the library that’s already preloaded on your app.
I did give this one a quick trim, pulled the backing off and then stuck it to a piece of embellishment I found in my random junk bin.
I am THE.WORST at anything technological. I’m pretty sure my husband has had just about enough of my texts asking how to turn the TV on (true story). Seriously, do not come to me with tech questions.
But this I managed all by myself with absolutely no hiccups! This little machine would be AMAZING at weddings (you can print out photo booth strips!) and at your next party (think cupcake picks, menu labels, place setting flags).
I loved it SO much, that I’m giving one away!!
